Alright lads, this week I'm sitting down with lars von trier and bjork
Putting Von Trier to task, I’m watching Dancer in the Dark for the very first time and judging it under Keep or Delete rules.
Looking at the films narrative, direction, aesthetic, performances and my overall enjoyment of the movie, I decide whether it’s worth keeping or if it should be deleted.
Using parts of his Dogme 95 manifesto, Lars Von Trier capped off his ‘golden hearts’ trilogy by creating a wibbly wobbly musical about blindness, immigration, single mothers, reluctant murder and the death penalty. It’s uncomfortable, it’s unpleasant, but is Dancer in the Dark any good?
Furthermore, is it worth preserving for eternity or is it ripe for extinction?
And what exactly is Bjork’s accent in this movie supposed to be?
Have you seen Dancer in the Dark? Are you a fan? I’d love to know what your take on it is and if you would KEEP or DELETE it.
Furthermore what other films of Von Trier are you a fan of?
