Alright lads, this week we’re taking a trip through time.
We’re looking at eight pioneering individuals within American history. Eight black inventors and innovators of the 19th, 20th and 21st century. Men and women who faced extreme adversity yet overcame and triumphed in the field of science, medicine and technology. Creative minds who provided solutions that have since had a knock on effect that is felt in modern life.
I loved putting this episode together for a number of reasons. Firstly, it’s deeply fascinating to find out the origins of items and inventions we take for granted. Secondly, as a relative newcomer to this country it’s great to dig deep into the past and flesh out a more dimensional understanding of what came before.

There are plenty more black inventors and innovators who throughout history have made groundbreaking changes, but there’s only so much I can fit into a single podcast episode however…if you’d like to hear a follow episode then please let me know. Furthermore, if you do, which historical figures would you like to see covered. Do you have a particular favourite pioneer that you feels deserves some shine? If so drop their name below.
Also, if you’re digging these individual history based episodes and you’d like to hear more then let me know. More importantly, if there’s a specific event/time period you’d love me to cover then I’m all ears in regards your suggestions.
